Frequently asked questions for new date Free Festival
Today, April 21st, the Dutch government announced an extension of its measures concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. All events scheduled to take place until August 31st are forced to be postponed. So, with a heavy heart we have to inform you that Free Festival cannot take place on July 4th 2020 and will therefore be moved to July 3rd 2021. We are happy to announce that the same line-up is confirmed for this date.
This news was to be expected, but obviously hit our team hard. Our team members work really hard year-round to create special experiences for you and we hoped with all our hearts that we could welcome you this year. However, the health and safety of you, our visitors, artists, staff and loved ones is what matters the most and therefore we understand this decision.
Even though the situation is beyond our control, we sincerely hope for your understanding. Tickets that have already been purchased will remain valid for the edition on July 3rd 2021. All ticket buyers will be contacted personally by email today regarding the next steps. Make sure you also check your spam folder.

The Dutch government announced an extension of its measures concerning the outbreak of Coronavirus. All events scheduled to take place until the 31st of August are called off. Unfortunately, this means that Free Festival cannot take place on its original date of the 4th of July 2020 and the event has been postponed to the 3rd of July 2021. The same line-up has been confirmed for this date.
If you already bought a ticket for Free Festival, this ticket will stay valid for the new date; July 3rd 2021. This means you will be able to experience Free Festival the way you imagined it to be.
You also have the opportunity to choose an Art of Dance Events voucher, equal to the amount of your initial ticket order, which can be used for one of our other events in 2020 or 2021. We of course hope either of these options works for you and we can welcome you at one of our events in the near future. By choosing one of these options, you would tremendously help us, so we can keep on developing Free Festival.
If you already bought a ticket for Free Festival, this ticket will stay valid for the new date; July 3rd 2021. If you cannot make it to the new date of Free Festival (3rd of July 2021), we offer an Art of Dance Events voucher. With this voucher, you will receive the amount of your order (including service fees*) as an electronic voucher to purchase a ticket for one of our events in the future. The voucher will be valid to use till 31-12-2021, so there will be plenty of time and good alternative events to redeem it.
If you have no intention of visiting any Art of Dance events in this period, you can request a monetary refund until the 22nd of May 2020. Please keep in mind that monetary refunds cannot be made earlier than one month after Free Festival 2021, in accordance with the new regulation.
All ticket purchasers have received an email, in which they can inform us about their preferred option.
If you bought a ticket, you have received an email in which you can let us know until the 22nd of May 2020 which option suits you best. If we do not receive such notification, your ticket will automatically become valid for the upcoming edition of Free Festival.
No, all tickets will remain valid for the new date of Free Festival (July 3rd, 2021). There is no further action required from you.
It is only possible to process the preferred option of the entire order. This unfortunately means it is not possible to break down the order amongst your group.
You will receive an email containing the electronic voucher mid-June at the latest. The email will contain information of the exact fulfillment. If you would like to purchase tickets for another Art of Dance event, you can submit the voucher code during the check-out process. In case the voucher amount exceeds the amount of your new order, a new voucher with the remaining amount will be issued within 24 hours. Example: if your voucher has a value of 100 euro and you would like to purchase a ticket of 50 euro, a new voucher will be issued with a value of 50 euro. In case the amount of your new order exceeds the amount of the voucher, the difference will be calculated automatically and needs to be paid during the check-out process. Example: if your voucher has a value of 50 euro and you would like to purchase a ticket of 100 euro, you will need to pay the remaining 50 euro during check out. The voucher will remain valid until December 31, 2021.
We are working hard to set up the technical solution to process the vouchers, we expect that you will receive the electronic voucher from our ticketing partner Paylogic mid-June at the latest.
The amount of the voucher will be equal to your order plus ticket fees (excluding merchandise, shipment costs and insurance).
The voucher will be issued to the original buyer and will be transferable.
Yes, you can choose the event of your liking until December 31, 2021; Supremacy, Live For This, Snakepit, Masters of Hardcore, Dominator etc.
All artists who were supposed to perform on the 4th of July 2020, have confirmed that they are excited to perform on the new date, the 3rd of July 2021.
The refund will be processed ultimately a month after the new date of Free Festival, 3rd July 2021. This is in accordance with the new regulation reached by various trade organizations in the cultural sector, the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Dutch Authority for Consumers & Markets. We are not able to give you any information regarding unofficial ticket resellers such as TicketSwap, Marktplaats, Tickets4u, as we have no official partnership with them. You could try to get in contact with the reseller and/or with the person that has sold you (a) ticket(s) as he/she will be receiving an email with information regarding the postponement and next steps.
Unfortunately, it is beyond our control to assist you in obtaining alternative solutions / refunds for products purchased by companies other than our official ticketing company, Paylogic. We advise you to check in with the company you booked your hotel and/or flight with, we’ve learned from our experience that they probably can help you out in this situation.
Yes, all locker and/or parking tickets will also be valid for the new dates.
