How to get there

Free Festival 2023 takes place on the 17th of June 2023 at the Almere Strand, The Netherlands. Not sure what’s the best way to get to the event? Below you’ll find all transport options and all you need to know about them.

However you choose to travel to Free Festival, travel safely. If you’ve had a few drinks, you are likely to overestimate the extent to which you’re still able to drive. You should know though, that you’re a danger to yourself and other road users.Make sure you’ll be able to get home safely. Never get into a car with someone who is not sober. Get yourself a sober driver, call a cab, find yourself a hotel, ask someone to come and pick you up or use public transport.

Don’t feel like being the designated driver? You can also get to Free Festival via public transport. You can take the train to Almere Poort Station. This station is a 15 minute walk away from the event location. Need to catch the last train? Make sure you’re back at the station no later than 0:30 AM.

Be well prepared for your journey and use the ‘NS Reisplanner’ or ‘9292’ Use these tools to find out if there are any constructions on your route.

There will be no shuttle buses between Almere Poort Station and Free Festival. The station is located within walking distance of the event location.

You will receive all the required information to get to, and possibly park at Free Festival. Within 2 days before the event all information will be sent via e-mail.

Are you traveling to Free Festival by car? To put Free Festival as the destination in your GPS, search for Muiderzandweg in Almere.

Turn your navigation system off once you see the yellow ‘Free Festival’ traffic sign, these will point you in the direction of the event site.

It’s possible to park your car near/next to Free Festival. Don’t want to waste precious time on parking? Buy your parking ticket online in advance when the ticket sales start! The ticket price will be €15,00 ex fee in online presale. You can also buy your parking ticket at the parking location for €17,50 (PIN only).

The signs will lead you to the parking lot. Make sure to follow the instructions of our staff at all times. It is not allowed to park your camper at the parking lot and/or to stay the night. Parking is at your own risk.

Will you be dropped off and/or picked up? Lucky you! Your driver can drop you off and pick you up at the designated ‘Kiss & Ride’ location. This is clearly signposted and is easily accessible for visitors as well as drivers.

If you’re traveling to Free Festival by taxi, make sure the driver follows the ‘Taxi’ signs to the taxi stand. When you leave the event, there are taxis at the special rank. You can find the taxi stand by following the signs.

Are you living close by and will you hop on your bike or scooter? Park your bike or scooter at the designated bycicle storage.
